VICTORIA'S SECRET

High quality pearl beadwoven choker with an elegant V of graduated drops.  Closes with a delicate heart-shaped lobster claw clasp of sterling silver.  Adjusts from 12 to 14.5 inches. Wonderful on a bride, debutant, or symphony ball attendee.  Created in February 2011.    In a private collection.

PERSEPHONE'S RETURN

My piece, designed to honor the balance that is the equinox, has formal symmetry, yet is organic in character, to reflect the botanical beauty. The delicate loveliness of Persephone’s Return springs forth from the slumbering earth in full bloom almost overnight. I anxiously await the vision of the first crocus, peeking out of the snow. And in the meantime, I have captured that joy in beads.  Created in March 2011.  Winner of the Bead Mavens Vernal Visions Challenge.     In my personal collection.

RAINDROPS ON LILACS

My entry in the Etsy Beadweavers April challenge "Spring Around the Corner."   The first in a series of three lilac necklaces. Created in April 2011.   In a private collection.

ASH & EMBER - THE BALROG

This necklace was created for my son Zak, who loves Lord of the Rings.  It represents the Balrog, a titan of darkness and evil.  His shadowy form bursts into flame when he is angered.  He has downward-curling horns, and wings.  I tried to capture malice, charcoal, embers and flames in the necklace.  Created in April 2011.   For sale in my Etsy shop.

PERSIAN LILAC

A cousin to "Raindrops on Lilacs" and the second in a series of three, this orchid pink version has delicate little buds woven into its neckstrap.  A personal favorite!  Completed in April 2011.  Occasionally, For sale in my Etsy Shop.

DAWN'S REFLECTION

My effort to capture a reflection of dawn cast on water in beads.  The best thing about it is that fact that the reflection is disturbed by movement, just like the glassy surface of a lake.  Bead embroidery and fringe.  Completed in June 2011.  For sale in my Etsy shop.

.
PEACH PROFUSION

Part of a profusion series that includes "Fuschia Profusion" and "Pepper Profusion."  This one features beautiful green leaves and delicate pink buds, and, originally, this beautiful peach bead.
Created in July 2011.   In a private collection.

THE LION'S TALE

Created for "Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!"  The task was to find inspiration in an animal and add the magic of the Wizard of Oz.  My animal is represented by the tail of the Cowarly Lion as the focal tassle. The beads are a delicate matte metallic collection of yellow golds and pinky bronzes with hints of green that seemed to represent the Emerald City. The delicate but spiky bud shapes in the edges of the necklace contain both the beauty and the danger of the poppy field. Winner of the Etsy Beadweavers September 2011 Challenge.  In a private collection
IN THE FOREST PRIMEVAL NECKLACE

A piece created for the sheer joy of leaf fringe and a beautiful piece of faceted Swarovski crystal in Autumn colors.  Elegant peyote stitch neck strap features 24k dark gold delica beads, and a hand make toggle and loop clasp.  Primal elegance.  Created in August 2011.   For sale in my Etsy shop.

IN THE FOREST PRIMEVAL EARRINGS

Companions to the necklace by the same name.   Created in August 2011.   For Sale in my Etsy Shop.

WILDFIRE NECKLACE AND EARRINGS SET

I just loved this beautiful dyed abalone cabochon.  And when I took it out to begin working on it, the news was full of forest fires in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, as well and Texas.  Using matte black beads that looked like charcoal, I made my own wildfire, complete with fire opal Swarovski crystals.  Created in September 2011.   For sale in my Etsy Shop.

PICASSO JASPER NECKLACE SET

A beautiful cabochon surrounded by teeny tiny stick coral and strung with more coral and jasper.  Fun and funky.  Created in September 2011.   For sale in my Etsy Shop.

CUBED SPIRAL TWIST NECKLACE

A Dutch spiral with matte metallic verdigris cubes and vintaj brass findings.  Created  in October 2011.   In a private collection.

GASPEITE SWIRL PENDANT NECKLACE

A beautiful and somewhat rare Gaspeite cabochon, bezeled in pale matte 24k gold delicas and surrounded by twisted greens.  Created in October, 2011.   For sale in my Etsy Shop.

DENIM  DREAM

Lapis Lazuli ovals and a matched pair of Azurite cabochons led to this bead embroidered bib.  Chunky elegance, equally at home with jeans and a sweater or a coctail dress. Created in October 2011.  For sale in my Etsy Shop.

EMPHATIC EXCLAMATORY STATEMENT NECKLACE

Two beautiful Biggs Deschutes Jasper cabochons with elegant freshwater pearl draping in browns, golds, coppers and brass tones.  Dark gold cylinder bead bezels are finished with bright gold charlottes and a gorgeous gold toggle closure.  Created in November 2011.  For sale in my Etsy shop.

DONNA'S PEACOCK TAIL

Designed for a friend, and in her private collection.  November 2011

SNOW ON THE MOUNTAIN

Created for my sister Cara, and in her private collection.  The cabochon image represents a view of Mount Helena's North face, visible from the front yard of my parent's home where we grew up.  The branch fringe might be wintery trees and shrubs, or our mutual roots.   In her private collection.

NEST EGG NECKLACE

Inspired by the beautiful nest clasp from Beadsmith, and part of a project involving about 25 designers from around the world, who created work inspired by, and designed to feature, the Elegant Elements clasp line.  You can see more of the work in this project on Facebook. Also my entry in the Etsy Beadweavers February 2012 NEST Challenge. Which meant killing two birds with one stone, pun decidedly intended!  :o)
