"Many paths lead to Nivrana" maybe? Sometimes, I start with a shape too, but this time, I knew the components would be the star. And as I work further, I find that I am trying to diminish the power of the connections, and minimize them, using them primarily to put space between things and create an airy lightness for what could easily be a heavy piece. So far so good, but it's time to do a second iteration of the big picture to better align elements and create some size adjustability. My successful big stuff usually sells, and it is nice is there is some ability to adapt to bigger and smaller necks.
